Dr. Violetta Papachristodoulou

Chartered Counselling Psychologist

BSc PgDip DPsych CPsychol (HCPC)

I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist providing short and long-term psychological counselling and psychotherapy in my private practice as well as under the NHS. I have extensive experience working with adults and adolescents in the NHS, private, and voluntary sector.

Most people experience anxiety or depression at some point in their lives and may need help to cope with pain and confusion. You may feel stuck and unmotivated or need to work through a traumatic experience of your past so you can move on with your life. You might also experience work related stress or be dealing with relationship difficulties. Self-development may similarly be a reason for seeking therapy. Therapy provides an opportunity to explore and make sense of your difficulties in a safe and non-judgmental environment, develop your self-awareness, and improve your relationships.

I work in a way that is collaborative and relational. I draw on a variety of psychological approaches including Humanistic, Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I am particularly interested in how our earlier experiences and relationships influence us in our present. My style of therapy will be tailored to you and your individual needs.

I offer short-term time-limited work as well as long-term psychotherapy. You do not need to commit to on-going therapy when you decide to make contact with me. Our initial appointment will give us the opportunity to discuss your difficulties and how we can work together.

I am a registered practitioner with the Division of Counselling Psychology (BPS), as well as a Registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

I see clients for therapy in Shoreditch/Liverpool Street at Art of Thought, Psychological Practice as well as in Highgate, at West Hill House/Highgate consulting rooms.
